A Short Biography of Mark AndersonBefore reading a book I like to know a bit about the author. What qualifies him to write? 'Tis the same for a website. So here goes. I'll let you in on my life a bit so you can decide for yourself about things. My father was a grass-based dairyman for 45 years, a really good farmer and steward of the land. He farmed in Oregon's lush Willamette Valley and that's where I grew up. My mother did her best to raise a strong willed child (me), and two other siblings. After graduating from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle and earning a master's degree from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, I answered God's call to the ministry. My wife and I were married in 1972 and God has favored us with seven children. My wife, Kari, has home educated all the kids, travels the world and still has time for a website. Andrew has done humanitarian and cultural work in Turkey. Ethan has lived in Israel and worked to bring Arab and Israeli young people together. Anna is a Fullbright scholar and recently returned from teaching in Korea. Samuel plays violin in a country band. Matthew attends Muscatine Community College anud works on cars and fences. John is president of the Muscatine College Senate and is interested in drama and politics. Sarah is Dad's helper on the farm and has quite a flock of her own. Have you ever heard the saying,”You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy?" For me, it's true. In 1993 we were miraculously able to buy a farm. We have been able to raise our family and build our own house here on the farm. And we raise sheep too. Since 1976 I've pastored the Church of the Living Water in Muscatine, Iowa. Now I enjoy shepherding two flocks--the church and our grassfed sheep. I am also a chaplain at Muscatine Community College. About grassfedrecipes.com. When my wife started making money and having fun on her website www.karipearl.com, I thought I could have a site also. Since producing grassfed lamb is my avocation, that became an obvious choice for a website niche. There you have it. Sincerely, Mark Anderson
