Elegant Strip Steak Recipe Will Knock His Socks Off

Your man will love it--it's got a subtle punch! It's a really easy strip steak recipe to prepare.

Whatever you want to call it, it's likely to become one of your family's favorite steak recipes. It is for Cheryl Haden of Lytton, Iowa who contributed it to the Farm Bureau "Spokesman" magazine. One more benefit: this could be called a "one skillet steak". (For clean-up, you only have to wash one pan!)

Simply Elegant Steak

Ingredients:

11/2 pounds round steak
1-1/2 Tablespoons oil
2 large onions, cut in 1/2 inch slices and separated into rings
4 ounce can mushrooms, drained, reserve liquid
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup dry sherry, cooking wine
1-12 teaspoon garlic salt

Procedure:

Cut the round steak into thin strips; this is most easily done while meat is still partially frozen. Brown in oil. Add onions. Saute until tender crisp.

Blend soup, sherry, mushroom liquid and garlic salt. Pour over steak. Add mushrooms. Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 1 hour or until tender. Serve over cooked rice or mashed potatoes.

Recipes made from grassfed meat (where cows are finished on grass rather than corn) are more nutrient-laden than meat from supermarkets. If you want the health benefits of omega 3(weight loss, heart health) and CLA (more weight loss), you'll have to ask for grassfed meat. Try to find it at a farmer's market or health food store near you. You can also order it online. We all know it's good to eat as close to nature as possible. Natural grassfed meat contains 60% more omega 3's than conventional (corn-fed) beef. As you may know, omega 3 is essential for human health and cannot be manufactured by the body. It must be eaten in foods or supplements. If you or anyone you know isn't getting sufficient omega 3 in their diet, the info at Omega 3 Food may prove helpful.
